Kasey Hopkins

Kasey Hopkins is a Memphian through and through, steady, sharp, and built for kitchens and for people. Her love of food has been long lasting, the kind that started as curiosity and became purpose. She was the second student to ever enroll in The Sow Project, and in many ways she grew right alongside it, helping shape what the program looks like when it works at its best.

Kasey did not just complete the program, she climbed through it. She moved from student to teaching assistant, then into leadership as a sous chef, earning every step with consistency, humility, and an uncommon work ethic. In the kitchen, she carries standards and calm, she watches details, she moves with intention, and she makes the people around her better. Outside of service, she is the kind of mentor you remember, patient, honest, and quietly relentless about helping someone find confidence in themselves.

Her story is rooted in family. Kasey speaks with real pride about her siblings, the people who helped shape her grit and her tenderness, and she carries deep love and respect for her grandmother, a steady presence and a source of strength in her life. That foundation shows up in everything she does, how she leads, how she listens, how she shows up when someone else is struggling and needs a hand.

Two years with The Sow Project has been nothing less than storybook, not because it was easy, but because Kasey kept choosing growth. She is a strong woman, a fantastic mentor, and a stellar human being, the kind of person who proves what happens when talent meets opportunity, and then becomes the opportunity for someone else.
