On the evening of March 21st, connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike are invited to participate in an extraordinary event that promises to tantalize the taste buds and celebrate the art of fine dining—the Sow Project's Cheese and Wine Spring Tasting.

This carefully orchestrated evening will offer attendees an immersive experience, where the subtleties of flavor and aroma are explored through a series of thoughtfully paired cheese and wine combinations. Experts will be on hand to guide guests through each tasting, sharing insights into the origins, production processes, and tasting notes of each selection. The Sow Project

The Sow Project is a free Culinary Job Training program that is available to both unemployed and underemployed individuals.

Each step in the program is designed to:

  1. Secure gainful employment upon completion

  2. Provide a foundation for what it takes to be a great employee, even beyond the kitchen

  3. Nurture and cultivate talent

  4. Teach students how to use healthy and locally sourced ingredients

  5. Earn liveable wages while you learn

Culinary Delights

The evening will feature a curated selection of cheeses and wines, each chosen for its exceptional quality and unique characteristics. Guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of cheeses, ranging from soft and creamy to hard and aged, paired with wines that complement and enhance their flavors.

To further elevate the experience, nonprofit apprentices will also prepare some wonderful seasonal regional favorites to complement the evening. These dishes will be crafted with the same attention to detail and commitment to quality, showcasing the freshest ingredients sourced from local farms and producers.

Cheese Selection

The cheese selection will include:

·        Brie de Meaux: A soft cow's milk cheese with a rich, buttery flavor and a delicate white rind.

·        Roquefort: A blue cheese made from sheep's milk, known for its tangy and slightly salty taste.

·        Comté: A semi-hard cow's milk cheese with a nutty and caramelized flavor profile.

·        Cheddar: A well-aged cheddar with a sharp, savory taste and crumbly texture.

·        Goat Cheese: A fresh and tangy cheese made from goat's milk, often rolled in herbs or ash.

Wine Selection

The wine selection will feature: Producer List to Follow

·        Chardonnay: Versatile white wine with flavors ranging from citrus and green apple to buttery and oaky.

·        Pinot Noir: A red wine known for its light body, red fruit flavors, and earthy undertones.
